Experimenting with innovative techniques & reinventing future fashion
The purpose of Mellon 2045 is to reinvent mainstream fashion by experimenting with a variety of methods and materials. Beautiful new innovative fabrics are created by using 3D printing, kombucha and pre-consumer textiles.
3D printing on pre-consumer textiles aim on examining different filaments currently available such as PLA, Flex, beer and coffee filaments.
In the future both biodegradable and fiber filaments for 3D printing will revolutionize the feeling of 3D printed clothing and add a tactile character to it.
Materials: Pre-consumer textile waste (synthetic & silk), bioplastic, kombucha, leather, tulle
Techniques: 3D print, lasercut
